What is the listed property sector ?
It consists of Property Unit Trusts (PUT's) and Property Loan Stocks (PLS's) which are listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange SA, (JSE)
These are companies that own and manage a broad spread of commercial properties, giving investors exposure to the retail, office and industrial property market
They distribute pre-tax interest income as opposed to post-tax dividends and can be compared to cash and bonds as an alternative asset class.
